Mark has particular experience working with people with anxiety; depression/low mood; trauma and PTSD; low self-esteem; and personality disorders. He is especially experienced in working with men.
Mark's way of workingMark integrates elements from a number of therapeutic approaches into his counselling / psychotherapy work to meet the needs and preferences of each individual. These include: Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis / Psychodynamic Therapy, DBT-Informed Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Therapy.
Mark's background and training
Mark has thirteen years’ experience working as a counsellor in a range of settings including residential hospital settings and independent practice and he has worked at a senior level for many years.
Mark is qualified to diploma level in the field of counselling/CBT (Edinburgh Napier University) and he has a Post-Graduate Certificate in Transactional Analysis / Psychodynamic Therapy from Queen Margaret University, and an MSc in Social Sciences from the University of Glasgow.
Mark is fully accredited with COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland) as a counsellor and psychotherapist and with the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC).
