Works as Psychology Services Team Member at First Psychology Centre, Borders.
Laura recently graduated with a BSc (hons) in Psychology from Edinburgh Napier University where she participated in various researching modules and completed a dissertation on 'the effects of social media on romantic relationships'.
Laura has experience working for an equestrian centre where she often aided children, adults and sometimes disabled individuals to enjoy trekking and lessons on horses.
She has grown up actively involved with disabled adults and children and has helped out on a casual basis (for friends and family) accompanying individuals with various learning difficulties on days out in order to provide respite care for their families, as well as doing this on a paid basis in the summer of 2016.
Laura is a former 'befriending scheme' volunteer with the Royal Voluntary Service with whom she mainly worked to recruit and match elderty individuals with an appropriate befriender in order to ease their feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Laura's future aspirations lie in counselling psychology and her dream job would be in equine therapy, combining her 10+ years of working with horses with her passion for mental health and psychology.
