Appointments at our Borders Centre

If you are considering booking an appointment at our centre or would like to refer someone to us, we would be delighted to hear from you. We offer a choice of day and evening appointments and can usually book a first appointment within seven days.

Booking an appointment

If you’re interested in booking a session with one of our practitioners, the first step is to give us a call, drop us an email or use our quick enquiry form. Our friendly team can help with any questions or queries you may have and book you in to see a suitable practitioner at a time that suits you.

If you are a GP, health professional or occupational health consultant wishing to discuss/make a referral to us, we would be delighted to hear from you. We also accept health insurance clients and are registered with all major health insurance companies.

The ‘initial’ session

We will arrange for you to attend a first session, which we call an initial session. During this session you will meet your practitioner and agree a plan for working that you are happy with. Usually clients are happy to continue with the practitioner they meet for their initial session, but sometimes you might prefer (or be advised) to see someone else who may better meet your needs. This is something you will discuss at the initial session.

The ‘contract’

Following the initial session, and if you choose to continue, you will agree a ‘contract’ with your counsellor/psychotherapist, CBT therapist, psychologist of coach. This contract will spell out things like the fee you will pay, how often you plan to attend and when this will be, the number of sessions agreed, etc (this is usually a maximum of six to start with). This process allows you and your practitioner to be clear about what will happen. The contract may be a written document and, if this is the case, you and your practitioner will each keep a copy.

It is important to say that the contract is not a legally binding document and you are perfectly entitled to decide to stop coming at any time. However we would always encourage you, wherever possible, to talk about this with your practitioner first.

Cancellations

In common with other professionals, we operate a strict cancellation policy requiring clients to give us at least two business days (48 hours) notice of any cancelled session. This allows us to offer the session to another client with sufficient notice. Sessions cancelled with insufficient notice will be charged.
